CEA and Sony Promote High Resolution Audio

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Sony Electronics have both recently announced their support for and promotion of high resolution audio.

The CEA announcement of 2013-09-03 cited the benefits of high resolution audio.  CEA research indicated that 9/10 consumers say that sound quality is important to them and 39% say that they are prepared to pay more for higher quality audio electronics.

The Sony announcement of 2013-09-04 also extolled the virtues of high resolution audio and introduced their new lineup of high res audio products.

On line music retailer Acoustic Sounds also recently announced an agreement with Sony in which its new high res download site, Super Hirez, will provide a digital download service for Sony albums produced or remastered in DSD.
