Troy Audio demonstrated the Hellena MKII loudspeakers, with their massive outboard crossovers, built with Duelund Audio capacitors. The speakers were driven by electronics from Thrax, including the Orpheus phono tube preamplifier, Dyonysos control amplifier and Spartacus 300 pure 300B power amplifiers. The digital sources was the DreamPlay ONE CD player from Métronome Technologie's Kalista range. There were also two turntables, one from SoReal Audio and the other from Thomas Schick. The room was acoustically treated and tuned by Artnovion, using Eiger Sub Traps, Lugano diffusers, and Dawson and Sienna W absorbers.
The sound from this system was effortless. The huge Hellena MKIIs disappeared completely in a vast soundstage that extended from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, but with correctly proportioned acoustic images. This is one of my favourite rooms at the show.
