German turntable manufacturer, Clearaudio had a strong presence at High End 2018. Their large booth displayed their wide range of turntables, tonearms, cartridges, phono electronics and record cleaners.
Headphone manufacturer Audeze, from California, USA, demonstrated its product range at CanJam Munich. Among the products on display were the LCDi4 and a prototype of the Mobius.
The LCDi4 is a planar magnetic in-ear headphone. Despite its unusual shape it's quite comfortable to wear. Its sound is wonderfully dynamic and seamless, from the deep, tight base through the midrange to the sparking treble.
Artnovion, from Portugal, manufactures a wide range of acoustic treatments for audiophile, professional audio, and architectural and engineering applications. They had samples of some of their absorbers and diffusors on display.
Artnovion products could also be seen in various demo rooms, as several equipment manufacturers at the show selected them to provide the acoustic treatments for their rooms.
Spanish ribbon loudspeaker manufacturer, Alsyvox Audio Design, demonstrated its Botticelli model, a 1.77 m tall full range design with a 94dB sensitivity.
The rest of the system consisted of electronics from Omega Audio Concepts, the Stream CD player and the four-chassis DNA dual mono integrated amplifier, all powered by the Nano Power Plant power conditioner.
Dutch loudspeaker manufacturer, AEquo Audio, launched the Stilla at High End 2018. The Stilla brings many of the design concepts of AEquo's highly acclaimed and awarded Ensis to smaller, more familiar form, that's also more affordable.
