Raidho
This system was one of four set up on each wall of a large, almost square, untreated room. Despite the limitations of this setup, this system was one of the very best sounding of the show.
The Raidho D2s had all the power, resolution, tonal accuracy and harmonic richness for which which Raidho speakers are known. The speakers disappeared into a deep, wide soundstage inhabited by almost tactile images of the musicians. I really enjoyed the way that music flowed from this system.
Sony
Not an audio system, but with its laser light source the Sony 4K VPL GTZ1 ultra short throw projector produced some truly stunning images. Placed about six inches from the bottom of the screen, the projector thew a huge image with such vibrant, lifelike colour it was like looking through an open window. Despite the image size the 4K resolution was such that the individual pixels couldn't be distinguished, even from quite close up.
SVS
SVS had on display a number of speakers and subwoofers from its Ultra and Prime series. I listened to the Ultra Tower driven by Emotiva electronics. This reasonable priced system provide a dynamic, energetic presentation of the music, with powerful bass and good imaging and soundstaging.
Tannoy
In this systems the Tannoy Canterbury Gold Reference speakers were driven by Tenor Audio amplification. The Canterburies were positioned almost half-way into a small room, firing along its length.
The sound was all ease and authority, with the large speakers disappearing into a deep, realistic soundstage. The system reproduced vocals particularly well. Selections by Ella and Louis and by Aaron Neville were particularly memorable.
