Toronto Audio Video Entertainment Show (TAVES) 2014 Show Report (page 7)

Wrap Up

TAVES 2014 was an extremely enjoyable show with many fine systems and components on demonstration.  From among these some particularly stand out.

Best Sound

There were several contenders for best sound in the show.  Of these I've picked four:

  • Harbeth
  • MBL
  • Raidho
  • Wilson Audio/Dan D'Agostino

Major Discoveries

As always happens at high end shows there are a couple products that you discover that catch the eye, the ear and the imagination:

  • Enteq Ground Boxes were a revelation.  These complete passive accessories lower the noise floor and enhance the resolution of even already excellent systems.
  • Neat Acoustics speakers provide excellent sound and surprising bass quantity and quality in quite a  small, room-friendly form factor, and at an affordable price.

Additional Pictures

Kimber Kable's set up a demo of a cable braiding machine producing cable for its PBJ interconnect.  These PBJs were specially done in the TAVES 2014 show colours.  The short video shows the cable braiding
