Sonoma Acoustics demonstrated their M1 headphone system at CanJam Munich. The M1 system consists of a circumaural electrostatic headphone driven by an energizer with a built-in DAC.
I found the M1 headphone slightly uncomfortable, exerting some pressure on the sides of the head. The system displayed a wide, pleasant soundstage. It had wonderful tone and resolution, and an exquisite handling of vocals, in particular. However the M1 is not without its limitations. It can't play particularly loud. Also the bass has limited punch and isn't as tight as one might like. Within those limitations it is very enjoyable to listen to.
